Lattafa Fire On Ice 110ml EDP bottle - boozy raspberry and cognac perfume UK

Lattafa Fire On Ice vs Khamrah: Boozy Woods or Spiced Dessert?

Quick verdict

Pick Lattafa Fire On Ice (£22.49 for 110ml) if you want a woodier, fruitier, boozier scent: cognac and raspberry over oak, myrrh and cedar. Pick Lattafa Khamrah (£22.99 for 100ml) if you want the classic sweet one: cinnamon, dates and praline melting into vanilla and tonka.

Both are warm, spiced cold-weather scents, but Fire On Ice reads as drinks cabinet and Khamrah reads as bakery.

“Fire On Ice vs Khamrah” is the first comparison Google suggests when you search for Fire On Ice, and it is easy to see why. Both open with cinnamon, both have a boozy reputation and both sit at almost the same price. If you are deciding between them, the Lattafa Fire On Ice 110ml Eau de Parfum is the newer, woodier bottle, while Khamrah is the 2022 favourite with tens of thousands of votes behind it.

This guide sets out what each one is built from, where they overlap, where they part ways and who each one is really for. Notes and ratings come from Fragrantica and Lattafa’s own site. Where we talk about how they wear, we are summarising what public reviewers say, not making promises about your skin.

Where the Two Overlap, and Where They Split

On paper the overlap is smaller than people expect. Fragrantica lists Fire On Ice with cognac, raspberry and cinnamon on top, caramel, rose petals and moss in the heart, and oak, myrrh, cedarwood and ambroxan in the base (Fire On Ice on Fragrantica). Khamrah opens on cinnamon, nutmeg and bergamot, moves to dates, praline, tuberose and Mahonial, and dries down to vanilla, tonka bean, amberwood, myrrh, benzoin and Akigalawood (Khamrah on Fragrantica).

So the two pyramids share just two named notes: cinnamon and myrrh. The rest of the likeness comes from the overall mood. Both carry warm spicy, sweet, fruity, amber and woody accords on Fragrantica, which is why the two keep getting compared. The order of those accords tells the real story, though:

Fire On Ice: strongest accords
Woody, warm spicy, sweet, fruity, amber, cinnamon, rose, caramel
Khamrah: strongest accords
Sweet, warm spicy, vanilla, amber, cinnamon, woody, fresh spicy, fruity

Woody leads for Fire On Ice; sweet and vanilla lead for Khamrah. That single difference explains most of what reviewers report: Fire On Ice is the drier, darker, more grown-up of the two, and Khamrah is the more dessert-like.

How Each One Unfolds on Skin

Fire On Ice: from drinks trolley to woodshed

The opening is the boldest part. Cognac and raspberry give a jammy, liqueur-like fruit, and cinnamon warms it straight away. Lattafa frames the whole scent around contrast, “where ice meets flame”, and the heart is where that idea shows: rose petals and moss bring a cooler, slightly green note against the caramel. The base then turns dry and woody, with oak and cedar, a resinous thread of myrrh and the clean, salty lift of ambroxan.

Raspberry and cognac are the notes Fragrantica reviewers mention most. Several also describe the dry-down as creamy or woody rather than sugary, which fits the accord chart.

Khamrah: from spice jar to vanilla

Khamrah starts with cinnamon and nutmeg brightened by bergamot, then settles into its famous middle: sticky dates and praline, with tuberose adding a smooth floral softness. The base is rich and rounded, vanilla and tonka with benzoin, myrrh and amberwood, and a peppery-woody edge from Akigalawood. If you want the stage-by-stage detail, our guide to what Lattafa Khamrah smells like covers it closely.

The short version: Fire On Ice moves from fruit to wood, Khamrah moves from spice to sugar. Fire On Ice ends drier; Khamrah ends sweeter.

Do They Smell the Same? What Reviewers Say

Opinion is split, and that is useful in itself. On Fire On Ice’s Fragrantica page, Khamrah appears in the “people who like this also like” list, so plenty of wearers enjoy both. In the written reviews, some people find the two very close, while others say Fire On Ice does not resemble Khamrah at all. A few reviewers say they would skip Fire On Ice if they already own Khamrah or a similar boozy scent.

The likely reason for the split is the shared cinnamon in the opening (our cinnamon fragrance guide explains why that note dominates first impressions). In the first minutes, both read as warm, spiced and boozy. Once the raspberry, rose and oak of Fire On Ice take over, and the dates and praline of Khamrah take over, they drift apart. If you mostly judge a perfume by its first spray, they may seem alike. If you judge it by the dry-down, they will not.

Fire On Ice is also frequently compared with a Kilian boozy fragrance, and Khamrah with another from the same house. We cover those comparisons on the Fire On Ice and Khamrah product pages rather than here.

Performance, Seasons and Maceration

Lattafa does not publish longevity figures for either bottle, and we will not invent them. Fragrantica reviewers praise the projection and staying power of both, but each page also has reviewers who report weak performance, so results vary from skin to skin.

Season advice is more consistent. Fire On Ice is most often recommended for cooler weather, and some reviewers warn against wearing it in heat. Khamrah, with its cinnamon, dates and vanilla, is widely treated as an autumn and winter scent too. Neither is the bottle for a hot summer afternoon. For more cold-weather picks across the range, see our best Lattafa winter perfumes.

One more point for Fire On Ice: many reviewers say it changes noticeably after resting for a few weeks, becoming smoother and sweeter. If your first impression is sharp or overly boozy, our guide to perfume maceration explains why giving a new bottle time can help.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tap a question to see the answer.

Is Fire On Ice a flanker of Khamrah?
No. Fire On Ice is a separate Lattafa fragrance launched in 2025, not part of the Khamrah line. It shares only cinnamon and myrrh with Khamrah’s listed notes.
Which is sweeter, Fire On Ice or Khamrah?
Khamrah, on paper. Sweet and vanilla are its leading accords on Fragrantica, while Fire On Ice is led by woody and warm spicy, with sweet in third place and no vanilla listed.
Can men and women both wear them?
Yes. Fragrantica lists both Fire On Ice and Khamrah as fragrances for women and men.
Is Fire On Ice good for summer?
It is mainly recommended for cooler weather. Some Fragrantica reviewers warn against wearing it in heat, and the same advice is commonly given for Khamrah.
If I already own Khamrah, should I buy Fire On Ice?
It depends on what you love about Khamrah. If it is the dates and vanilla, Fire On Ice may feel too woody. If it is the boozy, spiced opening and you want a fruitier, drier version, Fire On Ice is the more different choice. Some reviewers feel it is redundant if you own Khamrah, others disagree.
Why does my new bottle of Fire On Ice smell harsh?
Many reviewers say it becomes smoother and sweeter after resting for a few weeks. Keep it in a cool, dark cupboard and try it again later.
