Lattafa Teriaq Intense 100ml eau de parfum bottle, a boozy plum fragrance

Lattafa Teriaq Intense Review: Boozy Plum, Saffron and Who It Suits

The short answer

Lattafa Teriaq Intense is a boozy, spiced plum scent: saffron and bergamot up top, a plum-liqueur and cinnamon heart, then amber, tonka and benzoin. It is sweet, warm and loud, and Fragrantica voters rate it 4.39 out of 5, one of Lattafa’s highest scores. The 100ml bottle is £34.99 at Royal Scents.

It is not a stronger version of the original Teriaq. Same perfumer, Quentin Bisch, but a completely different note list. Wear it on autumn and winter evenings at one or two sprays, and skip it if syrupy sweetness or saffron puts you off.

Lattafa unveiled Teriaq Intense at a launch event in Paris in November 2024, according to Fragrantica’s launch report. The composition is credited to Quentin Bisch of Givaudan, the same perfumer behind the original Teriaq. Since then it has built a following well beyond the usual Lattafa crowd, with close to 5,000 votes and more than 800 written reviews on Fragrantica (checked October 2026).

This review covers what it smells like, how it differs from the original Teriaq, what wearers report about performance, and who should save their money.

What Are the Teriaq Intense Notes?

Seven notes, and Fragrantica’s Teriaq Intense listing and Lattafa USA’s official Teriaq Intense page agree on every one:

Top
Saffron · Bergamot
Heart
Plum liquor · Cinnamon
Base
Amber · Tonka bean · Benzoin

Fragrantica voters rank amber as the strongest accord, followed by warm spicy, fruity, aromatic, cinnamon and vanilla. The launch material describes the key note as a plum liquor in the style of slivovica, the Central European plum brandy, “dressed in spices and sweet resins”. That is a fair summary of the whole fragrance. Cinnamon is the note that most often decides whether people keep a bottle like this; our guide to who cinnamon fragrances suit is worth a read if you are unsure.

Teriaq vs Teriaq Intense: What Is the Difference?

This is where most confusion starts. The name suggests a stronger concentration of the same scent. It is not. The two share a perfumer, a name and a warm, sweet mood, but not a single listed note.

Notes from Fragrantica and Lattafa USA. Ratings checked October 2026; Fragrantica lists both as 2024 releases by Quentin Bisch.

Reviewers of the original Teriaq on Fragrantica are sharply divided: some love its caramel-honey sweetness and the leather that holds it together, others find the leather too much or the opening sharp. Teriaq Intense has been better received overall. One Fragrantica reviewer described the original as suiting younger wearers and the Intense as more complex, which captures the general feeling.

Royal Scents does not currently stock the original Teriaq. If you came looking for it because you want a sweet, warm gourmand, the alternatives further down are all in stock.

What Does Teriaq Intense Smell Like, Stage by Stage?

Opening
Saffron leads, with its slightly leathery, golden edge, and bergamot adds a short flash of brightness. Fragrantica reviewers often mention a sharp or alcoholic first few minutes, which most say fades quickly. A few find the saffron itchy or unpleasant. A brand-new bottle can read sharper still; our Lattafa maceration guide explains why resting helps.
Heart
The plum liquor arrives and takes over: dark, syrupy, boozy fruit rather than a fresh plum, wrapped in cinnamon. This is the part people buy it for, and the part that divides opinion.
Dry-down
Amber, tonka and benzoin soften the booze into a sweet, resinous warmth. It stays sweet to the end. Some reviewers wish there were woods or incense here for more depth; there are none.

Most reviewers call it sweet and boozy, but many say the cinnamon and saffron keep it from becoming syrupy. A smaller group finds it cloying or sticky, particularly at three sprays or more. If you like your gourmands with a grown-up, after-dinner feel, this is the profile.

How Long Does Teriaq Intense Last?

Lattafa publishes no longevity figures, so this is a summary of what Fragrantica reviewers report. The majority view is positive, but not unanimous:

Most common report

Many wearers report eight to twelve hours or more, and longer on clothing.

Projection

Widely described as strong in the first few hours. Several reviewers advise one to three sprays at most.

The minority

Some say it lasts around six hours on them, or that performance did not match the hype.

Put simply: most people get a long, noticeable wear from a couple of sprays, and the bigger risk is overdoing it rather than it disappearing. Spray lightly and add more later if you need it.

Is Teriaq Intense a Cold-Weather and Evening Scent?

Yes. Fragrantica reviewers overwhelmingly recommend it for autumn and winter, evenings, date nights and dressed-up occasions. Several say it is too strong for the office or for hot weather, though a few wear it all year.

  • Best: cold evenings, dinners, nights out, the run-up to Christmas.
  • With care: daytime in winter, at one spray.
  • Avoid: warm weather, small offices, gyms and long car journeys with others.

It is officially unisex on both Lattafa USA and Fragrantica, and reviewers disagree about which way it leans. In practice it suits anyone who enjoys warm, sweet, boozy scents. It appears in our round-up of the best Lattafa men’s perfumes, but plenty of women wear it too.

Is Teriaq Intense Worth £34.99?

It is one of the pricier Lattafas we sell. For comparison, Khamrah is £22.99, Khamrah Qahwa £20.99 and Asad Bourbon £17.99, all for 100ml. Teriaq Intense sits nearer to Musamam Black Intense at £31.99.

Whether the extra £12 or so is worth it depends on whether you want this particular plum-liqueur accord. Fragrantica reviewers frequently compare it to Khamrah and Khamrah Qahwa. Some call Teriaq Intense the more refined and complex of the group; others feel it is too close to Khamrah to justify owning both. Other comparisons reviewers mention include Kilian Angels’ Share, Lattafa Fire On Ice, French Avenue Liquid Brun and Tom Ford Plum Japonais. None of these are claims that it is a copy; it is an original composition, and the Teriaq Intense product page covers the designer comparisons buyers ask about.

Our view: if you already own and love Khamrah, Teriaq Intense is a worthwhile second bottle for its plum and saffron. If you own neither, start by deciding whether you want dates and spice or boozy plum. Our guide to which Khamrah is best covers that side of the choice, and Angham vs Khamrah vs Atheeri vs Eclaire compares Lattafa’s wider gourmand range.

Frequently asked questions

Tap a question to open the answer.

What does Lattafa Teriaq Intense smell like?
Boozy plum liqueur and cinnamon, opened by saffron and bergamot and finished with amber, tonka and benzoin. Think spiced plum brandy rather than fresh fruit.
Is Teriaq Intense stronger than Teriaq?
They are different fragrances, not two strengths of one. The original is caramel, almond, honey and leather; the Intense is saffron, plum liquor, cinnamon and resins. Both are Eau de Parfum by Quentin Bisch.
How long does Teriaq Intense last?
Many Fragrantica reviewers report eight to twelve hours or more, with strong projection early on. A minority report around six hours. One to two sprays is usually enough.
Do you sell the original Lattafa Teriaq?
Not currently. We stock Teriaq Intense. If you want a sweet, warm gourmand like the original, Khamrah is the closest in-stock option in mood.
Is Teriaq Intense like Khamrah?
Many Fragrantica reviewers see a family resemblance through cinnamon, tonka and benzoin. Khamrah is built on dates and praline, Teriaq Intense on plum liquor and saffron. Some reviewers find them too close to own both; others call Teriaq Intense more complex.
Can I wear Teriaq Intense to work?
Only lightly. Several reviewers say it is too strong for the office. If you do, use one spray on clothing and save fuller wear for evenings.
Is Teriaq Intense for men or women?
Both. Lattafa USA and Fragrantica list it as unisex, and reviewers disagree on which way it leans. It suits anyone who likes warm, sweet, boozy scents.
