Our Lattafa fresh and aquatic perfumes are the bottles for warm days, the office and anyone who finds the house’s famous gourmands too heavy. Expect citrus, sea salt, green fruit and clean musks rather than vanilla and oud, although several still keep a soft, warm base underneath. If you only try one, start with Khamrah Waha: yuzu and cucumber with a touch of sea salt over Khamrah’s familiar vanilla-tonka base, the warm-weather member of the Khamrah line.

Where to start

  • Atlas – the salty one. An eight-note marine scent that smells like seawater drying on skin; it divides opinion, so read our Atlas review first.
  • Mayar Natural Intense – the soft one. Green tangerine, fig, melon and coconut water over water lily and jasmine, drying to musk, sandalwood and vanilla.
  • Asad Zanzibar Limited Edition – the clean one. Marine notes and lavender over a soapy heart and tonka-amber woods, with no coconut.
  • Emeer – the formal one. Lemon, juniper and white tea over sandalwood, olibanum and ambergris.
  • Fakhar Platinum – the fruity one. Bergamot and guava over incense and palo santo.

How to choose

Decide how literal you want the sea to be. Atlas is the only properly salty, marine bottle here; Mayar Natural Intense and Khamrah Waha are fresh but soft and sweet underneath; Emeer is dry and tailored. For coconut-water freshness with incense, the original Asad Zanzibar is worth a look too.
