Eight Lattafa Fragrances Made for a British Winter
Cold air flattens light scents and rewards warm, smoky ones. These are eight warm bottles built for October to February, all in stock, from £11.99.
Short answer: start with Lattafa Khamrah, the cinnamon, dates and vanilla all-rounder. For smoke, choose Bade’e Al Oud Oud for Glory (big oud) or Khamrah Dukhan (drier tobacco and incense). For sweet warmth, Asad Elixir, Yara Elixir or Asad Bourbon. For the office, His Confession. On a budget, Qaed Al Fursan Untamed.

Each Pick in Detail
What each one actually smells like, who it suits and who should skip it.
1. Khamrah: the one most people should start with
Lattafa Khamrah opens with cinnamon and nutmeg, moves into sticky dates and praline, and settles onto vanilla, tonka and benzoin. That cinnamon-dates-vanilla accord is about as close as a fragrance gets to a winter jumper. It is sweet and noticeable for the first two to three hours, then sits closer as a warm amber. Many wearers report around eight hours on skin and much longer on clothes, though a few get only two or three hours.
It is sold as the Kilian Angels’ Share alternative. The two share cinnamon, praline, tonka and vanilla, but Khamrah swaps the cognac for dates and is sweeter. Our honest Khamrah review covers the comparison properly, and which Khamrah is best compares the whole line.
✓ Buy it if you want one warm, easy-to-love bottle for the whole winter.
✕ Skip it if sweet fragrances give you a headache. Go for Khamrah Dukhan instead.
2. Bade’e Al Oud Oud for Glory: the powerhouse
Oud for Glory is the black-and-gold bottle that built Lattafa’s reputation. Saffron, lavender and nutmeg open sharp, agarwood and patchouli build a smoky heart, and oud and musk anchor a trail that clings to wool coats. Wearers commonly report 8 to 12 hours on skin and considerably longer on clothing, so two to three sprays is plenty.
It is the most recommended alternative to Initio Oud for Greatness, and the heaviest oud on this list. It also needs the longest rest: give a new bottle six to eight weeks before judging it. The Bade’e Al Oud collection guide compares it with its three siblings.
✓ Buy it if you want a formal, powerful oud for evenings, weddings and dinners.
✕ Skip it if you need something for a small, warm office.
3. Asad Elixir: the evening bottle
Asad Elixir opens with pink pepper, saffron and a squeeze of grapefruit, then turns to tobacco, vanilla and cedar over light amber, frankincense and cashmeran. Wearer reports on new bottles are very mixed, from under an hour to ten hours or more, and many reviewers say it improved after a few months of rest.
It sits in Hugo Boss Bottled Absolu territory and is evening-coded: dinners, dates, winter nights out. Read the full Asad Elixir review, or see how it compares with the rest of the line in our Asad collection guide.
✓ Buy it if you want a grown-up, after-dark scent that gets noticed.
✕ Skip it if you want a daytime scent.
4. Yara Elixir: creamy, sweet warmth
Yara Elixir is the richer, warmer take on the Yara line. Strawberry and orange flower sit over vanilla, amber and musk, which is why it is most often compared with Kayali Yum Boujee Marshmallow | 81. The overlap is real but looser than some listings claim, and the product page shows exactly where the two meet and differ.
It pairs naturally with Asad Elixir if you are buying two bottles for a couple. Not sure which Yara suits you? See which Lattafa Yara to buy.
✓ Buy it if you love sweet, creamy gourmands or want an easy winter gift.
✕ Skip it if you prefer dry or smoky scents.
5. His Confession: winter warmth you can wear to work
His Confession is the grown-up pick. Mandarin, cinnamon and lavender open onto a powdery iris heart with cypress and benzoin, then vanilla, tonka, incense and amber in the base. Where most of this list announces itself, His Confession stays close and polished.
That makes it the easiest winter scent here to wear in a heated office, on public transport or anywhere you share air with other people.
✓ Buy it if you want a refined signature scent for weekdays.
✕ Skip it if you want a big, room-filling projector.
6. Khamrah Dukhan: smoke instead of sugar
Khamrah Dukhan takes the Khamrah idea and turns the sweetness right down. Dukhan (دخان) means smoke, and that is what you get: mandarin and pimento up top, smoked spices, incense and labdanum in the heart, then tobacco, amber, tonka and a little praline to finish.
It is the driest and most formal of the Khamrah bottles, and for people who find the original too sweet it is often the better winter choice.
✓ Buy it if you like incense, tobacco and a drier, more serious scent.
✕ Skip it if you want a dessert-style gourmand. Stick with the original Khamrah.
7. Asad Bourbon: the refined winter gourmand
Asad Bourbon is Lattafa’s answer to Azzaro The Most Wanted Parfum: mirabelle plum, pink pepper and lavender, then cocoa, nutmeg and davana, landing on bourbon vanilla, vetiver and amber. It is dark chocolate rather than milk chocolate.
Wearers report anywhere from about three hours to ten or more on skin, depending on sprays and whether the bottle has rested, and longer on clothing, with moderate projection that pulls people in rather than filling the room. That is why it is the office-safe member of the Asad line. A fresh bottle needs four to six weeks to settle. Read the full Asad Bourbon review.
✓ Buy it if you want a cold-weather signature that behaves itself indoors.
✕ Skip it if you mainly wear fragrance in summer.
8. Qaed Al Fursan Untamed: the best value on this list
Qaed Al Fursan Untamed is cinnamon, cardamom, mandarin and nutmeg over burnt caramel and herbs, drying down to amber, cedar, frankincense, labdanum and vetiver. It is often compared to Versace Eros Najim. Wearers on Fragrantica generally report good longevity on skin and longer on clothing.
Our Untamed notes guide covers how it develops over a day. It is 90ml rather than 100ml, and don’t confuse it with the other two Qaed Al Fursan bottles, which smell completely different (see Qaed Al Fursan vs Unlimited vs Untamed).
✓ Buy it if you want a proper winter scent for under £12.
✕ Skip it if cinnamon doesn’t agree with you.

Also Worth Knowing
Lattafa Asad (£17.99) is the spicier, louder Sauvage Elixir-style flagship. It works all year and holds up well in the cold, but it projects hard, so go easy indoors.
Bade’e Al Oud Honor and Glory (£19.99) is a pineapple and crème brûlée gourmand with cinnamon and vanilla: lovely for cosy autumn and winter wear, and a safe gift.
Lattafa Angham (£17.99) is lavender, cocoa and praline over vanilla, and most Fragrantica reviewers place it in autumn and winter. It is a softer scent bubble, so it suits the office too. For a warm floral instead of a gourmand, Her Confession (£25.49) puts tuberose over cinnamon, incense and vanilla.
Not quite on the list, but just as good in the cold: the coffee Khamrah, apple shisha over oud smoke, the original Asad and the pineapple crème brûlée gourmand.
Looking for Velvet Oud, Raghba or Maahir Black? All three suit winter well: Velvet Oud for dark leather and oud, Raghba for vanilla, oud and incense, and Maahir Black for raw, ashy smoke (the one bottle we would never blind-buy). All three are currently out of stock, so check their product pages for availability. Our Tom Ford alternatives guide compares Velvet Oud and Raghba with the designer scents they are measured against, and our best smoky leather perfumes guide covers Velvet Oud, Maahir Black and the in-stock leather alternatives.
Layering for Depth
Layering means wearing two scents together. It is a winter trick that adds depth a single spray can’t, and Lattafa’s prices make experimenting painless. The reliable formula is smoky plus sweet: apply the heavier, smokier scent first, then a touch of a sweeter gourmand on top. Start with one spray of each and build from there, because layering amplifies projection quickly.
Smoky oud softened by cinnamon and dates.
They blend seamlessly: Dukhan adds smoke and Khamrah adds sweetness.
How to Make Lattafa Last in the Cold
Cold, dry winter skin holds fragrance less well, so a few habits make a real difference.
Why Winter Changes Which Fragrance Works
Fragrance is made of volatile molecules that lift off your skin and reach the nose. Warmth speeds that evaporation up; cold slows it down.
That single fact decides what works in a British winter. Light, citrusy and aquatic compositions are built from the most volatile materials, and in cold air they struggle to lift at all, so they seem to vanish. Heavier notes such as resins, vanilla, oud, tobacco and spice evaporate slowly anyway, so they rely on your body heat and hold up well against the chill.
The rule of thumb is simple: in winter, go richer. Oud, amber, vanilla, spice, tobacco and incense are the families that come into their own when it is cold. If you want to understand those notes better, our guides to cinnamon fragrances and frankincense and incense fragrances go deeper.
Honest Caveats
Most of these are big, projecting scents. In a warm office or a packed train they can become too much, so apply with a lighter hand indoors than you would outdoors. His Confession and Asad Bourbon are the exceptions: both stay close by design.
Performance also varies from skin to skin and bottle to bottle, and a fresh bottle may underwhelm until it has settled. That is normal for the house, not a fault. Rest it before you judge it.
Buying elsewhere? Popular Lattafas are faked. Our UK authentication guide walks through the checks, and the UK’s Anti-Counterfeiting Group publishes general advice on avoiding counterfeit fragrance.
