Lattafa Bade’e Al Oud Collection — All 4 Fragrances Compared (UK 2026)

4 Fragrances · One Name · UK Buying Guide

The Wonder of Oud, in Four Directions

The Lattafa Bade’e Al Oud collection is the range that made Lattafa a household name. Bade’e Al Oud (بديع العود) means “wonder of oud” in Arabic, and since the original launched in 2020 the line has grown into four distinct fragrances, each one a different direction, all 100ml and all under £20.

The Bade’e Al Oud line is four separate fragrances, and not all of them contain oud. Oud for Glory is the smoky saffron-and-agarwood one and the Initio Oud for Greatness alternative. Honor and Glory is a sweet pineapple crème brûlée gourmand and the safest crowd-pleaser. Amethyst is a dark, jammy rose-oud. Sublime is a bright apple-and-litchi fruity-floral with no oud at all. If you want a serious oud, buy Oud for Glory. If you are not sure what you like, or you are buying a gift, buy Honor and Glory.

What Each One Actually Smells Like

A note list tells you what is in the bottle. This is what you actually get on skin, in the order you get it.

Oud for Glory
Opening
Saffron, nutmeg and lavender. Sharp and sophisticated, and on some skins a little medicinal for the first few minutes.
Heart
Agarwood and patchouli build a smoky, woody heart. This is where projection is at its strongest.
Drydown
Oud, patchouli and musk. A dark, smooth trail, and the part of the wear most reviewers praise.
Honor and Glory
Opening
Candied pineapple and creamy crème brûlée. Sweet and mouth-watering from the first spray.
Heart
Cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper and benzoin add warmth and stop it becoming a sugar bomb.
Drydown
Vanilla, sandalwood, cashmeran and a touch of moss. Smooth, creamy and softly resinous.
Amethyst
Opening
Pink pepper and bergamot. A spicy, bright lift before the rose arrives.
Heart
A dense, jam-like heart of Turkish rose, Bulgarian rose and jasmine. Turkish delight and rosewater, not soapy garden rose.
Drydown
Agarwood, amber and vanilla pull it somewhere dark, warm and regal.
Sublime
Opening
Crisp apple and litchi over a dewy rose. Sweet, tart and bright.
Heart
Ripe plum and soft jasmine add a velvety, more grown-up depth to the fruit.
Drydown
Moss, vanilla and patchouli ground the sweetness into a warm, skin-close trail. No oud at any stage.

How They Perform on Skin

Lattafa publishes no longevity figures for any of the four. The notes below are paraphrased from Fragrantica reviews (checked October 2026), and the spread is wide because skin, climate and spray count all vary.

Oud for Glory
Most reviewers describe it as long-lasting, with strong projection early on; a minority say it drops to a skin scent after a few hours. Two to three sprays is plenty.
Amethyst
Reports run from “average longevity” to 10 to 13 hours, and several reviewers warn that one or two sprays is plenty.
Honor and Glory
Many reviewers report seven to ten hours and a few report twelve or more, though at least one reports about an hour. Strongest in the first couple of hours, then a soft, creamy skin scent.
Sublime
The lightest of the four on most reports: a lively opening that mellows into a soft skin scent, with most reviewers in the three to eight hour range.

One tip that applies to the whole collection: let a new bottle rest before judging it. Wearers commonly report that Lattafa EDPs improve after a few weeks of maceration, and Oud for Glory especially benefits from a few weeks’ rest. Our maceration guide explains why fresh bottles smell different and how long to wait →

Oud for Glory — The Famous One

Oud for Glory, in the black-and-gold bottle, launched in 2020 as the first Bade’e Al Oud release and is the fragrance that built Lattafa’s global reputation. It remains the most recommended alternative to Initio Oud for Greatness: both are built on saffron, lavender, oud and patchouli. It is close in character rather than an exact copy, with a sharper opening than the Initio.

Saffron, lavender and nutmeg open sharp and sophisticated; agarwood and patchouli build a smoky heart; oud, patchouli and musk anchor a dark, smooth dry-down. It is also the lowest-priced bottle in the line at £19.49. Our full Oud for Glory review walks through the opening, the dry-down and the Initio comparison stage by stage.

✓ Buy it if you want a formal, powerful oud for evenings, weddings and dinners.

✕ Skip it if you need something office-safe in an enclosed space, or you are shopping for hot summer weather.

Buy Oud for Glory

Honor and Glory — The Pineapple Crème Brûlée

Lattafa Badee Al Oud Honor and Glory is the sweet one, and for a lot of people it is the gateway into the whole collection. Candied pineapple and creamy crème brûlée open it up; cinnamon, turmeric and black pepper stop it turning into a sugar bomb; and vanilla, sandalwood, cashmeran and moss carry the dry-down.

It is the most immediately likeable bottle in the range and the one most likely to earn unprompted compliments. If you are buying for someone else and do not know their taste, this is the safest of the four. Unlike many Lattafa releases it is largely an original creation rather than a dupe of one designer scent.

✓ Buy it if you like sweet, fruity, gourmand fragrances, or you want a crowd-pleaser under £20.

✕ Skip it if sweetness gives you a headache. Go for Oud for Glory instead.

Buy Honor and Glory

Amethyst — Rose, the Arabian Way

Amethyst is for anyone who thinks they dislike rose fragrances. This is nothing like soapy English rose: pink pepper and bergamot open onto a dense, jam-like heart of Turkish and Bulgarian rose with jasmine, then agarwood, amber and vanilla pull it somewhere dark and regal.

Longevity is excellent, often 10+ hours, with strong projection. It is genuinely unisex despite the sweet rose leaning feminine on paper. You will sometimes see it listed as an Initio Atomic Rose alternative, but most enthusiasts feel it is its own creation rather than a precise copy.

✓ Buy it if you want a rich rose-oud with real presence.

✕ Skip it if you prefer fresh or light fragrances. This is a statement scent.

Buy Amethyst

Sublime — The One With No Oud in It

Worth being straight about this: despite the name, Sublime contains no actual oud. Crisp apple and litchi open over a dewy rose, plum and jasmine deepen the middle, and moss, vanilla and patchouli ground it.

It is the outlier of the collection: bright, flirty and spring-summer coded, and widely picked up as an affordable alternative to Kayali Eden Sparkling Lychee | 39. It is an inspired-by interpretation with its own mossy character, not an exact copy.

✓ Buy it if you want something juicy and easy for daytime and warm weather.

✕ Skip it if you are specifically shopping for an oud fragrance. This is not one. If you like apple but want oud underneath, look outside the line at Lattafa Mashrabya (£16.99), with apple shisha and dates over oud smoke. Lattafa Blue Oud and Safwaan L’Autre Oud, two other apple-and-oud options, are currently out of stock.

Oud for Glory or Amethyst — Which Oud?

If you came to Bade’e Al Oud for the oud, these are the only two that deliver it. Both are cold-weather evening scents with serious staying power; the difference is what sits on top of the agarwood.

Amethyst or Honor and Glory: Which Sweet One?

These two get compared more than any other pair in the line, usually by someone who wants “the sweet one”. Amethyst is £18.99 and Honor and Glory £19.99, and they are sweet in completely different ways. Amethyst is a fruity-floral sweetness, jammy rose that reviewers often describe as “purple” or grape-like, with agarwood, amber and vanilla underneath. Honor and Glory is dessert sweetness: caramelised sugar, pineapple, vanilla and spice, with no oud in its listed notes. Choose Amethyst if you like rose and want a gentle way into oud; choose Honor and Glory if you like gourmands and do not care about oud at all.

Both divide opinion in the opening. Amethyst reviewers on Fragrantica describe a sharp, sometimes medicinal or plasticky start that lasts from a minute to around half an hour before the rose and vanilla settle. Honor and Glory reviewers more often mention a turmeric-heavy start that some love and some find odd. In both cases, plenty of wearers say the bottle improved after a few weeks of rest.

Pick by Situation: First Oud, Gift, Winter or Summer

The four bottles cost almost the same, so the right one depends on what you need it for. Start with one question: do you actually want to smell oud? If yes, choose between Oud for Glory and Amethyst. If not, choose between Honor and Glory and Sublime.

Your first oud

Amethyst. Fragrantica voters rank rose as its strongest accord and oud second, and the amber-vanilla base keeps the wood soft. Some reviewers still notice a sharper, medicinal edge in the opening. If you already know you like dark, smoky scents, go straight to Oud for Glory.

A gift or blind buy

Honor and Glory. Pineapple, vanilla and cinnamon are easy notes to like, and it does not ask the wearer to enjoy oud. The one risk is sweetness: skip it for someone who only wears fresh or clean scents. For a rose lover, Amethyst is the better gift.

Winter

Oud for Glory or Amethyst. Fragrantica reviewers repeatedly place Amethyst in autumn and winter, and several find it too jammy in hot weather; Oud for Glory’s saffron, patchouli and musk point the same way. Honor and Glory stretches across more of the year.

Summer

Sublime, the only one built for warmth. Its leading Fragrantica accords are fruity, fresh and tropical. Reviewers mostly place it in spring and summer, though some say the plum and patchouli base carries into autumn.

Launch year and Fragrantica rating · checked October 2026
Oud for Glory · 2020 · 4.04 / 5 (8,532 votes)
Amethyst · 2021 · 4.01 / 5 (4,292 votes)
Honor and Glory · 2023 · 4.13 / 5 (8,205 votes)
Sublime · 2023 · 4.14 / 5 (3,220 votes)

The ratings are close enough that none of the four is a clear community winner, so pick on the scent rather than the score. Ratings move as votes come in.

Honor or Honour? Badee or Bade’e?

Honor vs Honour. Lattafa’s bottle uses the American spelling Honor, but UK shoppers naturally type Honour. You will see Lattafa Honour and Glory, Honour and Glory Lattafa and Bade’e Al Oud Honour & Glory used interchangeably. They are all the same 100ml Eau de Parfum.

Badee vs Bade’e. The Arabic بديع is transliterated both ways. Bade’e Al Oud is Lattafa’s official styling; Badee Al Oud is the common simplified version. Same collection either way.

Frequently Asked Questions

Tap a question to open the answer.

How many Bade’e Al Oud fragrances are there?
Four are widely available in the UK: Oud for Glory, Honor and Glory, Amethyst and Sublime. All four are 100ml Eau de Parfum. At Royal Scents Amethyst is £18.99, Oud for Glory and Honor and Glory are £19.99, and Sublime is £21.49. Lattafa has since added a fifth, Noble Blush (2024), a powdery rose-milk, meringue and almond gourmand for women that Royal Scents does not currently stock; Honor and Glory is the closest in-stock alternative.
Which Bade’e Al Oud is the most popular?
Oud for Glory is the best known globally thanks to its Initio comparison, but Honor and Glory has become the faster mover in the UK because sweet gourmands are easier to wear day to day.
Do all Bade’e Al Oud fragrances contain oud?
No. Oud for Glory and Amethyst list agarwood (oud) in their notes. Honor and Glory and Sublime do not, on either Fragrantica or Lattafa’s own note listings, even though Lattafa USA’s copy describes Honor and Glory as ‘enriched with oud’. If oud is the reason you are buying, choose Oud for Glory or Amethyst.
Are Bade’e Al Oud fragrances unisex?
Yes. All four are listed for women and men on Fragrantica. Noble Blush, a 2024 Bade’e Al Oud release that we do not stock, is listed for women.
Is Bade’e Al Oud halal?
Like most Lattafa EDPs, these are alcohol-based (alcohol denat) eau de parfums. Whether that meets your personal standard is covered in our guide to halal fragrances and alcohol denat.
Which Bade’e Al Oud lasts longest?
Oud for Glory and Amethyst are the two most often described as long-lasting, with Amethyst reports running up to 10 to 13 hours. Sublime is the lightest of the four. Wearer reports vary widely and Lattafa publishes no official longevity figures, so there is no clear winner.
Which Bade’e Al Oud is best for summer?
Sublime. It is the bright, fruity one, built for spring, summer and daytime. Oud for Glory and Amethyst are cold-weather evening scents, and Honor and Glory is at its best from autumn to spring.
Which two Bade’e Al Oud fragrances should I buy together?
Honor and Glory plus Oud for Glory. One is sweet and one is smoky, with no crossover between them.
