Lattafa tobacco perfumes are for anyone who wants warmth with a little smoke: sweet pipe tobacco softened by vanilla, amber, dates or praline rather than anything ashy. They are cold-weather, after-dark scents. Start with Asad Elixir: pink pepper and saffron over a tobacco, vanilla and cedar heart, with amber and frankincense underneath. It is the bottle here where tobacco leads most clearly.

Where to start

• Asad Elixir — tobacco, vanilla and cedar over amber, frankincense and cashmeran. Smoky and creamy; in the style of Hugo Boss Bottled Absolu.
• Khamrah Dukhan — pimento and smoked spices, then incense and labdanum, settling on tobacco, amber and praline. The driest, least sweet of the Khamrah line.
• Mashrabya — apple shisha and pink pepper over tobacco, cinnamon and dates, drying to oud smoke, caramel and vanilla. Sweet hookah-lounge smoke; in the style of Kilian Smoking Hot.

How to wear them
