The best Lattafa oud for most people is Oud Mood (£15.99): rose and saffron over agarwood, caramel, amber and incense. You can clearly smell the oud, but the caramel and rose keep it smooth. If you have never worn oud, start gentler with Qaed Al Fursan (£11.99) or Ajayeb Dubai Portrait (£13.99), where fruit leads and the agarwood sits in the base.
For the dark, smoky end, Oud for Glory (£19.99) is the classic saffron-and-agarwood Lattafa, and Al Qiam Gold (£22.99) adds leather. Every bottle below lists oud or agarwood in its notes on both Fragrantica and Lattafa’s own listing, and we say exactly where for each one.
The word “oud” on a Lattafa bottle is not a promise. Bade’e Al Oud Sublime and Honor and Glory carry the name and list no agarwood at all, and Musamam is sold as a woody oud but lists none either. So the rule for this guide was simple: a bottle only made the list if oud or agarwood appears in its note pyramid on both Fragrantica and Lattafa’s official or US distributor listing (checked October 2026). Eight in-stock bottles passed. They are ordered from the easiest to wear to the darkest and smokiest.
As our guide to what oud smells like explains, the oud in modern commercial fragrance is almost always an accord rather than pure agarwood oil. That is normal at every price point. What changes from bottle to bottle is how loud the oud is and what sits around it. Shopping for her? Our best oud perfumes for women guide groups the rose and fruity ouds by style, and our Lattafa perfumes by note page maps the rest of the range.
Beginner-friendly Lattafa ouds: fruit first, oud underneath
1. Qaed Al Fursan: pineapple with a woody tail
If you want to try oud without committing to it, this is the bottle. Qaed Al Fursan opens on juicy pineapple and saffron, moves through balsam fir and jasmine, and finishes on cedar, amber and agarwood. Fragrantica voters rate it 4.21 out of 5 from more than 7,700 votes, and its main accords are fruity and sweet, with oud well down the list. Several reviewers say they barely notice the oud at all, which is exactly why it suits a first-timer.
Wearer reports on longevity vary: many land around four to six hours on skin, some say two or three, and a few report eight or more. At £11.99 for 90ml it is also the lowest price on the list. If you are confused by the other horse bottles, our Qaed Al Fursan vs Unlimited vs Untamed guide explains which is which; only the original lists agarwood.

2. Ajayeb Dubai Portrait: mango, osmanthus and a creamy oud base
Ajayeb Dubai Portrait (2023) puts orange and lemon over a heart of mango, osmanthus and jasmine, with oud, sandalwood and musk underneath. It is still fruit-led, but the oud is more noticeable than in Qaed Al Fursan, and many Fragrantica reviewers describe the opening as sharp until a new bottle has rested. After that, they say the mango turns smoother and the woods creamier.
Reports of six to ten hours on skin are common, though a few say it fades sooner. It rates 3.78 out of 5 from about 1,500 votes, so it divides opinion more than the others, but it is a genuinely different idea at £13.99.

The middle ground: rose, spice and a clear oud
3. Bade’e Al Oud Amethyst: jammy rose over soft agarwood
Amethyst is the gentler of the two Bade’e Al Oud bottles on this list, because rose leads and the oud supports. Pink pepper and bergamot open onto Turkish rose, Bulgarian rose and jasmine, then agarwood, amber and vanilla. Fragrantica voters rank rose as its strongest accord and oud second. Reviewers often report ten hours or more and warn that one or two sprays fill a room.
We are not repeating the full Bade’e Al Oud line-up here: our Bade’e Al Oud collection guide compares all four bottles, and the Amethyst review covers this one in depth.

4. Oud Mood: the best all-round Lattafa oud
Oud Mood is where the oud stops hiding. Rose, saffron and pimento open it; agarwood, caramel, floral notes and patchouli make up the heart; woods, amber, incense, resins and musk carry the base. The caramel is the clever part: it rounds off the agarwood so the result reads warm and sweet rather than medicinal. Fragrantica rates it 4.00 out of 5 from more than 2,200 votes, with amber, oud and woody as its leading accords.
Reviewers mostly describe it as long-lasting and strong, with some saying a couple of sprays fill a room and it clings to clothes for days. One reviewer found it weak and wondered about batch variation, and many say a harsh opening softens after a few months of rest. If you only buy one bottle from this list, make it Oud Mood.

5. Opulent Oud: saffron, cinnamon and oud for under £14
Opulent Oud (2018) is older and more traditional. Saffron and cinnamon on top, rose and agarwood in the heart, and agarwood again in the base with amber and cedar. Oud is its leading accord on Fragrantica, where it rates 3.98 out of 5 from about 1,500 votes. Lattafa’s own listing matches: cinnamon and saffron, rose and oud wood, then cedar, oud and amber.
Reviewers split on it. Some praise it as a well-made oud-rose for the money, others find it synthetic or too strong. Many describe a sharp, alcoholic opening that settles into a sweeter, smoky, resinous oud, and one reports about nine hours of wear. At £13.99 it is the cheapest way to get a properly oud-forward scent.

Dark and smoky Lattafa ouds
6. Mashrabya: apple shisha, tobacco and oud smoke
Mashrabya (2024) is the most atmospheric bottle here. An apple shisha accord and pink pepper open it, tobacco, cinnamon and dates follow, and the base is oud smoke, caramel, vanilla and patchouli. Be clear on one point: both Fragrantica and Lattafa list the base note as “oud smoke”, a smoky oud accord rather than agarwood by name. We include it because the oud is listed, and because it is the smokiest-sweet idea in the range.
It has the highest rating on this list, 4.30 out of 5 from more than 2,000 votes. Wear time reports range from about three hours to ten or twelve, and several reviewers mention a cough-syrup opening that softens into sweet tobacco and apple.

7. Oud for Glory: the classic saffron-and-agarwood Lattafa
Oud for Glory (2020) is the bottle most people mean when they say “Lattafa oud”. Saffron, nutmeg and lavender sit over agarwood and patchouli, with agarwood, patchouli and musk again in the base. Oud is its leading accord, and it rates 4.04 out of 5 from more than 8,500 votes.
The opening is the sticking point: many reviewers call the first 15 to 30 minutes harsh, rubbery or medicinal before a smoother, smoky woody trail arrives. Longevity reports range from ten to twelve hours to under two. Our Oud for Glory review walks through it stage by stage.

8. Al Qiam Gold: raspberry, leather and oud
The darkest pick. Al Qiam Gold (2022) opens on raspberry and saffron, then leather and patchouli, and settles on oud, amber, benzoin, guaiac wood and vetiver. Leather is its leading accord on Fragrantica, oud second, and it rates 4.00 out of 5 from nearly 600 votes. Lattafa’s US listing gives the same notes.
Reviewers describe it as dark, smoky and leathery, and many call it mature and best in cool weather. Wear time reports run from eight to twelve hours down to one to four, and the opening is often described as harsh before it smooths out. If leather is what draws you here, our guide to smoky leather perfumes covers that side in more depth.

Why Oud Mood Reminiscence and Musamam are not on this list
Both are good fragrances that we stock, and both are often filed under oud. Neither passed the note check. Oud Mood Reminiscence is listed on Fragrantica as Oud Mood Silver, with bergamot, apple, pineapple, rose, birch, patchouli, jasmine, musk, oakmoss, ambergris and vanilla, and no oud. Lattafa’s US note list matches that, even though its product description mentions oud. Musamam shows oud as a minor accord on Fragrantica, but its notes are saffron, mandarin, lavender, amberwood, cedar, geranium, Akigalawood, incense and labdanum. Akigalawood is a patchouli-derived material, not agarwood.
If you like resin and smoke more than oud itself, our frankincense and incense guide covers Lattafa bottles built around those notes instead.
How to wear a Lattafa oud without overdoing it
Reviewers across almost every bottle above give the same three pieces of advice. Start with one or two sprays, because several of these fill a room. Expect the opening to be the roughest part, especially on a new bottle, and judge the scent after half an hour. And give a fresh bottle a few weeks to rest if it seems harsh; our maceration guide explains why that helps. Oud in a hot, crowded room is the classic mistake, so save the darker picks for cold weather and evenings.
Which Lattafa oud should you choose?
Choose Qaed Al Fursan or Ajayeb Dubai Portrait if you have never worn oud and want fruit up front, or you want something you can wear in warmer weather.
Choose Amethyst or Oud Mood if you want to clearly smell the oud but softened by rose, caramel or vanilla. Oud Mood is the safest single buy.
Choose Opulent Oud if you want a traditional saffron-rose-oud and the lowest price for a properly oud-forward bottle.
Choose Mashrabya, Oud for Glory or Al Qiam Gold if you already like dark, smoky scents. Mashrabya is the sweetest of the three, Al Qiam Gold the most leathery.
Skip all of them if you need something office-safe in a small room or you dislike woody, resinous scents.
