For most people, the best Lattafa Fakhar is the original Fakhar: a clean apple, lavender and tonka scent that works for the office and everyday wear. Pick Platinum if you want something brighter and fruitier for summer, Extrait if you want warm amber and leather with a sunny edge, and Rose Gold only if you love big white florals.
All four are in stock at Royal Scents right now, from £15.99 to £18.99 for 100ml, with free tracked UK delivery on every order.
Lattafa sells four very different fragrances under the Fakhar name. They are not stronger or weaker versions of one scent. They are four separate perfumes that happen to share a word on the bottle. Buy the wrong one and you could end up with a white floral when you wanted a fresh office scent.
This guide puts the whole Lattafa Fakhar collection side by side. You will see what each one smells like, when to wear it, who it suits and what it costs. Every note list below has been checked against Fragrantica. Any longevity figures are wearer-reported, not our own claims.
Shoppers often describe the Fakhar bottles by colour or by who they are for, and shops and databases use different names. Here is how the common names map to the four fragrances.
| If you have seen it called… | It is | Compared to |
|---|---|---|
| Fakhar Black, Fakhar for men, the black-and-silver bottle | Fakhar (original) | YSL Y EDP |

“Silver” can mean either the black-and-silver original or Fakhar Platinum, so check the notes before you buy. Names are from Fragrantica and Lattafa’s US distributor. Weighing up a designer? The Lattafa Fakhar collection at a glance
Here is the short version before the detail:
- Fakhar (original): fresh, clean, barbershop-style. The safe all-rounder.
- Fakhar Platinum: bright citrus and sweet guava over smoky woods. A warm-weather scent.
- Fakhar Extrait: grapefruit and tuberose over amber and soft leather. Warmer and richer.
- Fakhar Rose Gold: a full white-floral bouquet over vanilla. The feminine one.
Three of the four lean fresh or bright. Only Rose Gold is a true floral. And only Extrait has real warmth in the base.

Each Fakhar in more detail
Fakhar (original): the one most people should buy
The original Fakhar opens with apple, bergamot and ginger. It moves into lavender and sage, then settles on tonka, cedar and vetiver. The overall effect is fresh, clean and slightly sweet, like a smart barbershop. Note pyramid per Fragrantica’s Fakhar Black listing, which is the name Fragrantica uses for this bottle. Lattafa’s own site lists a men’s Fakhar with a different, marine-and-violet pyramid; the notes here follow Fragrantica, which matches what reviewers describe when they compare it to YSL Y.
It is the easiest of the four to wear. It suits the office, a weekend lunch and most warm days. It is not the best choice for a deep-winter evening, where a warmer scent such as one from our winter perfume picks will do more.
Performance: reports on Fragrantica vary more than for most Lattafa bottles. Some reviewers get only one to two hours, a few get eight to ten, and many land somewhere around three to six hours on skin. Several say it lasts noticeably longer on clothing. Several reviewers suggest letting a new bottle rest for a week or two first. Our Lattafa Fakhar review covers how the original wears hour by hour and when to wear it.
Designer comparison: reviewers compare it to YSL Y EDP; the Fakhar product page covers that comparison in full.
Fakhar Platinum: bright, fruity and divisive
Platinum is also sold as Fakhar Platin. It is the same bottle. It opens sharp with bergamot, pink pepper and cardamom. Then comes the note that decides everything: guava, alongside lavender and ginger. The base is incense, palo santo and sandalwood, which gives it a dry, smoky finish (our guide to incense in fragrance explains why that note reads so polished). Notes per Fragrantica’s Fakhar Platin page.
The guava divides opinion. Some people find it juicy and fun. Others feel it sits on top of the lovely woody base for too long. The opening can also read sharp for the first 15 to 20 minutes before it settles, so don’t judge it on the first spray.
Performance: Fragrantica reviewers report anywhere from about five hours to seven or eight hours on skin, with the strongest projection in the first hour or two.
Designer comparison: reviewers compare it to YSL Y L’Elixir; see the Fakhar Platinum product page for the detail.
Fakhar Extrait: warmth, leather and a sunny edge
Extrait is the richest of the four. Grapefruit, cardamom and pink pepper open it. The heart is tuberose with solar notes and bitter artemisia. The base is amber, cashmeran, leather and labdanum. Notes per Fragrantica’s Fakhar Extrait page.
Despite the name, it is not simply a stronger version of the original Fakhar. On Fragrantica’s pyramids it shares no listed notes with it at all. The nearest overlap is amber in Extrait against amberwood in the original, and those are separate notes. It is marketed to men, but the creamy tuberose means many people wear it as a unisex scent. It works well for evenings, dates and nights out. If it is the leather you are after and you want it darker and smokier, see our best smoky leather perfumes.
Performance: Fragrantica reviewers report from around four hours with arm’s-length projection up to six to eight hours or more, with one reviewer reporting it lasting more than a day on clothing.
Designer comparison: reviewers compare it to Paco Rabanne 1 Million Parfum; the Fakhar Extrait product page explains how close it is.
Fakhar Rose Gold: for white-floral lovers only
Rose Gold is the outlier. It opens bright with fruits, lily, pomegranate and clean aldehydes. Then seven flowers arrive together: tuberose, jasmine, gardenia, ylang-ylang, rose, honeysuckle and peony. It finishes on vanilla, white musk, sandalwood and ambroxan. Fragrantica lists it as Fakhar Rose; it is the same fragrance.
If you like big, confident floral perfumes, this is a lovely bottle for the price, and it sits well alongside our best Lattafa perfumes for women. If tuberose or heady white flowers have ever been too much for you, skip it.
Performance: reports on Fragrantica are mixed. Some reviewers get four to six hours with nice projection; others find it fades quickly on skin. Several say it lasts much longer on clothing.
Designer comparison: reviewers compare it to Givenchy L’Interdit; the Fakhar Rose Gold product page covers that in depth.
Lattafa Fakhar vs Fakhar Platinum: which fresh one?
This is the most common question, because both are fresh and both have lavender in the heart. The difference is simple:
- Fakhar is apple-led and clean, with a soft tonka and cedar finish. It is the more office-safe and the more versatile.
- Fakhar Platinum swaps the apple for sweet guava and adds incense and palo santo underneath. It is fruitier, brighter and a little smokier.
If you are unsure whether you will like guava, start with the original.
Fakhar Extrait vs Fakhar: is Extrait just stronger?
No. This catches people out. “Extrait” here is a name, not a stronger version of the original. Fakhar is a fresh apple-and-lavender scent. Fakhar Extrait is a warm grapefruit, tuberose, amber and leather scent. They share no listed notes on Fragrantica’s pyramids. Choose based on the smell you want, not the word on the label.
✓ Bergamot✓ Ginger✓ Lavender
No listed notes in common. Extrait’s amber and the original’s amberwood are separate notes.
No listed notes in common. A completely different, floral perfume.
Extrait + Rose Gold: tuberose
Platinum + Rose Gold: sandalwood

A few buying tips
- Let it rest. Like most Lattafa, a fresh bottle often improves after a few weeks. Our maceration guide explains why.
- Check the notes, not the name. There are other Lattafa bottles with “Fakhar” in the name, including a 2015 fragrance simply called Fakhar Lattafa with a peach and pear opening. The note lists above are the ones to match.
- Buy authentic. Every bottle we sell is 100% authentic with the Lattafa holographic seal. Our authentication guide shows what to look for.
Every order comes with free tracked UK delivery, no minimum spend. Orders are dispatched within 24 hours and you get 30-day returns. If Fakhar turns out not to be your line, the rest of our Lattafa perfumes UK range is a click away.
