Apple, Sage and Tonka: the YSL Y Idea for £16.99
Apple · Bergamot · Ginger · Lavender · Sage · Juniper Berries · Geranium · Tonka Bean · Cedar · Amberwood · Vetiver — 100ml Eau de Parfum, 100% authentic, dispatched from the UK.
What Is Lattafa Fakhar a Dupe Of?
YSL Y Eau de Parfum. On Fragrantica’s note lists, Fakhar shares 10 of its 11 notes with Y EDP: the same apple, ginger and bergamot opening, the same sage, juniper and geranium heart, and the same tonka, cedar, amberwood and vetiver base. Reviewers generally find it a little sweeter and softer than the YSL. £16.99 for 100ml, against £115 for 100ml at YSL’s UK full price.
This is the black-and-silver bottle, listed as Fakhar Black on Fragrantica. The white bottle with rose-gold accents is Fakhar Rose Gold, a women’s white floral compared to Givenchy L’Interdit. For every YSL Y version, see our best YSL Y dupes UK guide.
Lattafa Fakhar (فخار, Arabic for “pride”) is the men’s original in the Fakhar line: a fresh apple, lavender and tonka scent in a black bottle with silver detailing, launched in 2022. It is the most-reviewed Fakhar on Fragrantica, rated 4.19/5 from 8,369 votes when we checked in October 2026. Clean on top, soft and woody underneath, it is the one reviewers reach for at the office.
The notes below are checked against Fragrantica and Lattafa’s US distributor listing, which give the same pyramid. Lattafa’s global site shows a different, marine-and-violet pyramid for its men’s Fakhar; we follow Fragrantica and Lattafa USA because their notes match what wearers actually describe.

What Does Lattafa Fakhar Smell Like?
Top — Apple, Bergamot, Ginger. Crisp green apple arrives first, ginger adds quiet warmth and bergamot lifts it with citrus brightness. Some reviewers find the apple sweeter and fruitier than in the YSL.
Heart — Lavender, Sage, Geranium, Juniper Berries. The middle turns cleaner and more aromatic. Lavender adds a soft floral lift, sage a herbal edge, and geranium and juniper round it into a barbershop-fresh heart.
Base — Tonka Bean, Cedar, Amberwood, Vetiver. Tonka gives creamy sweetness, cedar and amberwood give woody depth and vetiver a subtle earthy anchor. This is where the YSL comparison is clearest.
How Long Does Lattafa Fakhar Last?
Lattafa publishes no official longevity or projection figures, so the bars below use Fragrantica only.
Source: Fragrantica, checked October 2026. The rating bar is the community average from 8,369 votes. Fragrantica’s longevity and sillage vote breakdown did not display when we checked, so the other bars summarise its written reviews rather than a vote count: most land on three to six hours on skin, some report eight or more, a minority much less, and it lasts longer on clothing. Fakhar and YSL Y Eau de Parfum
| Lattafa Fakhar | YSL Y EDP | |
|---|---|---|
| Top | Apple, bergamot, ginger | Apple, ginger, bergamot |
| Heart | Sage, juniper, geranium + lavender | Sage, juniper, geranium |
| Base | Tonka, cedar, amberwood, vetiver | Tonka, cedar, amberwood, vetiver + olibanum |
| Price & size | In stock — £16.99 for 100ml | £115 for 100ml at YSL UK full price |
The honest difference: reviewers often find Fakhar sweeter and softer, with a fruitier apple opening and a lavender-led, slightly soapy heart, while the YSL’s olibanum gives it a drier, more resinous finish. Some reviewers call the two close to identical in open air; others notice the difference straight away.
Which Fakhar Should You Buy?

When to Wear Fakhar
Ideal for: office wear, daytime, warm days from spring to early autumn, and gifting anyone who likes clean, fresh fragrances. Fragrantica reviewers often call it an all-rounder for work, casual weekends and the gym bag.
With care: formal evenings, where it can read casual next to louder scents.
Better skipped: deep-winter nights. For cold evenings, Lattafa Asad is the warmer choice.
The Black Bottle: Making Sure You Order the Right Fakhar
Lattafa uses the Fakhar name on four different fragrances, so the bottle is the quickest way to tell them apart. This one, the men’s original, comes in black glass with silver detailing, which is why Fragrantica and Lattafa’s US distributor call it Fakhar Black. If the bottle in front of you is white with rose-gold accents, that is Fakhar Rose Gold, the women’s floral. Platinum and Extrait each have their own look and their own scent.
When the box arrives, check three things: the Lattafa holographic seal on the outer carton, sharp and evenly printed lettering on the box and bottle, and a batch code on the box that matches the one on the base of the bottle. Some reviewers find the bottle design a little dated. Two or three sprays from the 100ml bottle is the usual starting point.
Why Buy Fakhar From Royal Scents
Every bottle is genuine Lattafa with the holographic authentication seal, stored and shipped here in Britain. We have also told you it is sweeter than the YSL and that performance varies, because we would rather sell you the right bottle than process a return.
