This is not a fragrance “inspired by” 1 Million Parfum. Its formula is a subset of it.

And the wearers who’ve never seen the maths say exactly what the maths predicts. One puts it plainly: it’s genuinely super close, and in a blind test he’d probably fail to tell them apart. Another says that unless you’ve worn 1 Million for years, it’s really difficult to distinguish between the two.

How It Wears

Top — Grapefruit, Cardamom, Pink Pepper. A bright, spiky, mouth-watering opening. Grapefruit leads — tart, juicy, slightly bitter — with cardamom bringing green aromatic warmth and pink pepper a peppery fizz. It’s bracing and expensive-smelling from the first second.

Heart — Tuberose, Solar Notes, Artemisia. And then something genuinely unusual for a masculine fragrance: a big, creamy tuberose. It’s what makes this bottle interesting. Wrapped around it are “solar notes” — that warm, radiant, sun-on-skin accord that wearers keep describing as expensive suncream — with a bitter herbal artemisia keeping it from tipping into sweetness. It smells like a beach in the south of France, and it smells like money.

Base — Amber, Cashmeran, Leather, Labdanum. The landing is warm, smooth and leathery. A soft, polished leather — not a biker-jacket leather, a wallet leather — wrapped in golden amber and resinous labdanum, with cashmeran adding that woody-musky cashmere warmth. It’s the drydown that makes people sniff their own wrists.

The One Honest Difference (And Why Nobody Else Has Spotted It)

Wearers consistently say the same thing about Fakhar Extrait: it’s brighter, more citrusy, and it doesn’t evolve as much as the Rabanne. And they’re right. Here’s why.

1 Million Parfum contains four materials Fakhar Extrait doesn’t: monoi oil, salt, pine and ambergris.

Those four are the entire concept of the Rabanne. Its own marketing calls it “sun-drenched leather with salty effects”, built on a tuberose-and-salt accord. The monoi — a coconut-infused Tahitian oil — and the salt are what create that beach-skin realism and give the fragrance its sense of movement as it dries down.

Lattafa left them out. So you get the same ten notes, but flatter: brighter up top, more linear, less evolution across the day.

Is that a problem? Honestly, for most people, no. You get 90% of a very expensive fragrance for a very small fraction of the price, and the difference is one of texture rather than smell. But if what you love about 1 Million Parfum is specifically that salty, shifting, sun-and-skin quality — that’s the bit that’s missing, and now you know where it went.

Is It Masculine or Feminine? People Genuinely Fight About This.

It’s marketed to men. It’s built on tuberose. You can see the problem.

One wearer insists it’s extremely feminine — oceanic, salty, sweet white florals — and says his girlfriend’s Rabanne Olympéa smells like it. He argues, entertainingly, that Rabanne made a women’s perfume and marketed it to men, and everyone just went along with it.

A woman in Europe reports the opposite experience: she, her husband and her sons all read it as clearly feminine, and she urges other women not to be put off. Meanwhile a reviewer in Dubai refused to even test it on her skin because she’d been told it was a men’s fragrance.

Our view: it’s unisex, it leans masculine on account of the spices, and the argument is the best thing about it. Tuberose on a man is genuinely striking. Wear it if you like it.

Performance: Excellent

Strong. Wearers routinely report around ten hours on skin, and a full working shift on clothing. Projection is confident in the early hours and settles into a warm, close aura.

Two or three sprays. And a note worth passing on from a wearer who knows the range well: the material quality here feels a cut above the rest of the Lattafa catalogue — he suspects it genuinely is extrait-strength despite the Eau de Parfum label. We can’t verify that. But the observation is a fair one, and it matches how the bottle wears.

⚠ Which Fakhar Is This? Even Lattafa Can’t Keep Them Straight.

This is not a joke: Lattafa’s own website has the Fakhar Extrait product page sitting on the Fakhar Gold URL. On Fragrantica, a buyer asked the community outright whether Fakhar Gold and Fakhar Extrait are the same product. Nobody answered him.

Four fragrances carry the Fakhar name. Here is the clarity nobody else will give you:
