Pineapple, Pepper and Tobacco, Then Hours of Warm Amber
Lattafa Asad is the black-and-gold bottle that started the Asad line in 2021. It opens bright and peppery, turns to coffee and tobacco, and settles into a sweet vanilla-amber base that is built for cold weather. Here is what it smells like, how long it lasts, how many sprays to use and when to wear it.
Our verdict
Lattafa Asad smells spicy, sweet and warm. It opens with black pepper, pineapple and tobacco, moves into coffee, patchouli and powdery iris, and dries down to vanilla, amber, benzoin, labdanum and dry woods. It is a long-lasting Eau de Parfum: Lattafa publishes no longevity figure, but owner reviews on Fragrantica commonly report eight hours or more on skin and longer on clothing. Use two to three sprays for an evening and one for an office. It is at its best in autumn and winter, on cool evenings and nights out, and it is too sweet for hot summer days. At £17.99 for 100ml it is one of the best-value fragrances in the Lattafa range.

What Does Lattafa Asad Smell Like?
Eleven published notes, three stages on skin.
Fragrantica files Asad under amber, fresh spicy, woody and warm spicy as its leading accords, followed by vanilla, sweet, tobacco and powdery. In plain terms: it starts lively and peppery, gets darker and smokier in the middle, and finishes soft, sweet and resinous.
Does Asad Smell Like a Designer Fragrance?
Yes. Asad is widely compared to Dior Sauvage Elixir, and Sauvage Elixir appears among the fragrances Fragrantica users who like Asad also like. Asad is the sweeter, spicier take; the Dior is fresher. We cover the full side-by-side in Lattafa Asad vs Dior Sauvage Elixir: how close is it really?

How Long Does Lattafa Asad Last?
Lattafa does not publish an official longevity figure, so here is what the evidence actually supports.
Individual results vary with skin type, climate and how much you apply, so treat any single number with caution, including ours. One practical tip: a brand-new bottle often smells sharper and projects less than it will after a few weeks. Why Lattafa bottles benefit from a short rest →

When to Wear Lattafa Asad (and What Season)
Asad’s character comes from its warm base: vanilla, amber, benzoin and labdanum. Notes like these behave best in cool air, where they stay smooth, and become heavy and syrupy in heat. That makes it an autumn and winter fragrance first, comfortable on cool spring evenings, and a poor choice for a hot summer afternoon.
- Cold-weather evenings and nights out
- Dinners, dates and weekend plans
- Smart-casual events from October to March
- Gifting someone who likes warm, spicy designer scents
- Hot summer days and heatwaves
- Gyms and close-contact workplaces
- Anyone who dislikes sweet, vanilla-heavy bases

How Good Is Lattafa Asad?
By the numbers, very good for its price. On Fragrantica, Asad holds an average of 4.03 out of 5 from more than 14,000 votes (checked October 2026), which is a large sample for any fragrance, let alone one that costs under £20.
Its strengths are clear: a recognisable designer-style profile, a warm base that lasts, and a price that means you can wear it freely. Its weaknesses are just as clear: it is sweet, it is seasonal, and the opening pepper can feel sharp on a brand-new bottle. If you like warm, spicy fragrances and wear them from autumn to spring, it is an easy recommendation.
✓ Buy it if you want a warm, spicy, sweet evening fragrance in the Sauvage Elixir style, something that lasts through a night out, and a bottle you can wear without rationing.
✕ Skip it if you need a summer or gym scent, or you dislike sweet vanilla bases.
Verdict: 8.5/10
Lattafa Asad does what most people buy it for: a warm, spicy, sweet fragrance with real staying power at a fraction of designer prices. It loses marks only for being seasonal and sweeter than some will want. Wear it from autumn to spring, keep it to two or three sprays, and it is one of the best-value bottles in the range.
