The scent. Hayaam smells like standing on a cliff in warm weather — salt air, sun-warmed skin, a squeeze of lemon. The davana is the clever part: it gives the opening a slightly fruity, almost apricot warmth that stops the salt from reading purely mineral. The iris and lily of the valley in the heart add a soft, powdery smoothness, and the oakmoss-ambergris-sandalwood base gives it an earthy, grounded finish that most aquatics lack entirely.
The catch. The opening can come across as sharp and alcoholic — one reviewer called the first spray “maritime-salty-alcoholic”. The other honest caveat is originality: on paper, Hayaam is very close to Lattafa’s own Atlas — Fragrantica lists every Atlas note in Hayaam’s pyramid, with lily of the valley added to the heart, and one Fragrantica reviewer finds it “similar to Atlas in the mid and drydown”.
