Lattafa Fakhar eau de parfum 100ml bottle

Best YSL Y Dupes UK (2026): The Lattafa Fakhar Bottles That Get Closest

The short answer

The closest Lattafa to YSL Y Eau de Parfum is the original Lattafa Fakhar, the black-and-silver bottle. On Fragrantica’s note lists it shares 10 of its 11 notes with Y EDP, and it costs £16.99 for 100ml.

Reviewers generally find it a little sweeter and softer than the YSL. If it is the darker, incense-led Y L’Elixir you are after, Fakhar Platinum is the Lattafa people compare it to, but that match is looser and we explain why.

YSL Y Eau de Parfum, launched in 2018 and created by Dominique Ropion and Claire Liégent, is one of the best-known fresh men’s fragrances of the last decade. It opens with crisp apple, ginger and bergamot, moves into sage, juniper and geranium, and dries down to tonka, cedar, amberwood, vetiver and olibanum. Clean on top, warm and woody underneath.

This guide compares Y with the Lattafa fragrances we stock that genuinely share its structure, and is clear about where each one differs. If you already know you want Fakhar and just need its full notes, performance and FAQs, everything is on the Lattafa Fakhar YSL Y dupe page.

What YSL Y Eau de Parfum Is Made Of

Top
Apple, ginger, bergamot
Heart
Sage, juniper berries, geranium
Base
Amberwood, tonka bean, cedar, vetiver, olibanum

That is the pyramid Fragrantica gives for Y Eau de Parfum, where it is rated 4.42 out of 5 from more than 29,000 votes. YSL’s own UK page describes the same idea in plainer words: a fresh sage and crisp geranium accord on top, and sensual woods with a warm tonka heart underneath.

Notes: apple, bergamot and ginger on top; lavender, sage, juniper berries and geranium in the heart; tonka bean, cedar, amberwood and vetiver in the base. Lattafa’s US distributor lists the same pyramid.

Why it’s the pick: every note in Fakhar except lavender also appears in Y Eau de Parfum. Same apple-ginger-bergamot opening, same sage, juniper and geranium heart, same tonka, cedar, amberwood and vetiver base. Y adds olibanum (frankincense) to the base; Fakhar adds lavender to the heart. On paper, no other Lattafa we stock comes close to that overlap.

Best for: anyone who wants the clean, office-friendly Y Eau de Parfum style for daily wear.

Name check: Fragrantica and Lattafa’s US distributor call this bottle Fakhar Black. It is the black-and-silver bottle. The white bottle with rose-gold accents is a completely different fragrance (a women’s white floral), so make sure you pick the right one.

2 · If you want Y L’Elixir

Notes: bergamot, pink pepper and cardamom on top; guava, lavender and ginger in the heart; incense, palo santo and sandalwood in the base.

Why it’s here: Y L’Elixir (2024) is a short, darker composition: lavender, geranium, frankincense and oud on Fragrantica. Fakhar Platinum shares the lavender and the incense, and Y L’Elixir is the fragrance reviewers most often name when they compare it. But it also adds a sweet guava note that Y L’Elixir does not have, and it has no oud or geranium. Treat it as the same mood, not a copy.

Best for: people who like a fresh-smoky scent and enjoy a fruity twist. If guava sounds wrong to you, the original Fakhar is the safer buy.

Name check: Fragrantica and Lattafa’s US distributor list it as Fakhar Platin. Platinum and Platin are the same bottle.

YSL Y vs Fakhar, Note by Note

✓ In both (10 notes)

Apple · ginger · bergamot · sage · juniper berries · geranium · tonka bean · cedar · amberwood · vetiver

Only in Fakhar

Lavender. Reviewers often say the heart reads more barbershop-soapy because of it.

Only in YSL Y EDP

Olibanum (frankincense), which gives the YSL dry-down a slightly drier, more resinous edge.

Shared notes on paper are not the same as smelling identical. Quality and proportion of materials matter, which is why wearers do not all agree on how close the two are.

What Wearers Say

Those who find it close

On Fragrantica, many reviewers describe Fakhar as a YSL Y clone, and some say they would struggle to tell the two apart in open air. Fakhar is rated 4.19 out of 5 there from more than 8,000 votes.

Those who notice differences

Others find it sweeter and softer, with a fruitier apple opening and less depth in the woody dry-down. A few reviewers do not think it resembles Y at all. Performance is the most common complaint: many report three to six hours on skin, some eight or more, and it lasts longer on clothing.

Several reviewers say a new bottle improves after a short rest. Our Lattafa maceration guide explains how to do that, and our Lattafa Fakhar review sets out how it wears hour by hour and what wearers report on longevity.

Other Y versions: we have not found a Lattafa we can honestly match to Y Eau de Toilette, Y EDP Intense or Y Le Parfum, so we do not list one.
