Lattafa Pure Musk: What It Actually Is, and Every Lattafa Musk Worth Knowing
The short answer: Lattafa Pure Musk is a real Lattafa fragrance, a clean, soapy white musk in a 100ml unisex Eau de Parfum that Fragrantica lists under its Arabic name, Khalis Musk (Pure Musk). Reviewers describe it as fresh laundry and Dove soap, and it lasts around six hours on skin. It is not the only “Pure Musk” you will see in search results, which is where most of the confusion starts.
Below: the three products sold as “Pure Musk”, what the Lattafa one smells like, and all fourteen Lattafa musks compared, with honest stock notes. “Lattafa pure musk perfume” is one of the most-searched Lattafa queries in the UK, and one of the most confusing to buy on, because three different bottles answer to the name and Lattafa’s own website lists the wrong notes for the one that matters. We have checked every claim on this page against Fragrantica’s listings, Lattafa’s official site and the pattern of wearer reviews, and where the sources disagree we say so rather than picking one quietly.
Three Bottles Called “Pure Musk”: Which One Do You Mean?
The one this guide is about. Lattafa Perfumes, 100ml EDP, unisex, clear bottle with floating transparent spheres. Fragrantica: 3.83 / 5 from 775 votes. Khalis is Arabic for pure, so “Khalis Musk” and “Pure Musk” are the same juice.
A separate product from Ard Al Zaafaran, a sister house in the same Dubai group, sold as a 50ml EDP and as a perfume oil. Some retailers label it “Ard Al Zaafaran – Lattafa – Pure Musk”, which is how it ends up in Lattafa searches. Different bottle, different formula.
Lattafa’s Musk Al Aroos, an 80ml women’s EDP, appears on Amazon under the title “Lattafa Pure Musk Al Aroos”. It is a softer floral-musk with lemon and ambergris, not the Khalis Musk formula. Check the bottle: Al Aroos is a different shape and size.
Lattafa Pure Musk: What It Smells Like
Verdict: the cleanest musk Lattafa makes. Soap, fresh linen and a little baby-powder sweetness, with no oud, no spice and no surprises. If you want the Arabian “musk al tahara” style in a spray, this is it.
Pure Musk is a soliflore in the old sense: one idea, done plainly. The opening is a burst of white musk with a soapy, slightly sweet edge, and it does not develop much after that; what you smell in the first ten minutes is what you smell at hour five, only quieter. Reviewers reach for the same comparisons over and over: Dove soap, fabric softener, freshly washed sheets, the smell of a baby’s head. A small minority find an animalic undertone, which is a musk material doing its job rather than anything dirty.
A warning about the official notes. Lattafa’s own product page lists a pyramid of oud, cedar, lavender, sage, rosemary, vetiver and patchouli for Pure Musk. That is wrong: it contradicts the page’s own description (musk, rose, violet, ambergris) and every review we read. It looks like a template pasted onto the wrong product. We have gone with Fragrantica and the reviewers.
Longevity and projection: wearers commonly report six hours or so on skin and much longer on clothing, with moderate sillage that becomes a skin scent after two or three hours. Several warn that it is loud for the first half hour, so two or three sprays is enough. Launch year: Fragrantica’s index shows 2022, but the bottle has been sold for longer than that, so we are not printing a date we cannot confirm.
Wear it for the office, hot weather, the gym bag, layering under a louder fragrance, or anywhere you want to smell clean rather than perfumed. Leave it if you want complexity or a scent that changes over the day; it is deliberately linear.
What wearers compare it to: Musk Al Tahara attar (the white musk oil sold across the Gulf), Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc, Afnan’s own Pure Musk, and Lattafa Musk Mood, which several reviewers call near-interchangeable. None of these is a Lattafa claim; Lattafa does not describe Pure Musk as a copy of anything.

Almost every Lattafa musk is a white musk: the clean, soapy, powdery kind, not the animalic natural musk of old perfumery. The differences are in what sits on top of it. Clean, soapy, laundry musk
“Dove soap”, “fresh out of the shower”, “dryer sheets”. Pure Musk, Musk Mood and Ana Abiyedh are the three most people mean by “a Lattafa musk”.
Warm, sweet, cosy musk
White musk with vanilla, sugar or amber over it. Ana Abiyedh Poudrée is the flagship here; Raghba Muski is the sleeper.
Earthy, animalic musk
One bottle, and it divides people: “raw, pheromonic and sensual” to some, “cleaning product” opening to others. Lattafa’s site and Fragrantica list different notes; Fragrantica’s are shown.
Not on the list, and why: Bade’e Al Oud Amethyst is rose, oud and amber with no musk listed. Mohra has musk in the base but reviewers call it woody-spicy. “Sheikh Shuyukh Musk”, “Mohra Musk” and “Oud Mood Musk” do not exist as products. Musk Al Emarat is Ard Al Zaafaran, not Lattafa. Musk Al Aroos is Lattafa but has no Fragrantica page we could verify, so it is described above rather than tabled.
Which Lattafa Musk Should You Buy?
Pure Musk, or Musk Mood, which reviewers find near-identical. Musk Salama if you like a hint of wood underneath.
Velvet Musk, the best-rated Lattafa musk: white musk, black tea, iris and vanilla. Or Ana Abiyedh Poudrée for a sweeter, powdery take.

Three Things Worth Knowing Before You Buy a Musk
1. Musk is the note most affected by your skin
White musk materials sit right on the edge of what many people can smell, and some people cannot smell certain musks at all (a well-documented quirk called specific anosmia). That is why the same bottle gets “insanely strong” and “disappears in an hour” from different reviewers. If a musk seems weak on you, spray it on fabric, where it will read far louder to everyone else.
2. Rest the bottle, especially Opulent Musk

Because Pure Musk and Musk Mood are so linear, they make excellent foundations. Two sprays of musk on the chest, then your usual fragrance over the top: the musk extends the base and adds a clean skin-like halo without changing the character of the scent on top. Is Lattafa Pure Musk a dupe of anything?
