“Rose gold” is a bottle colour, not a scent, so perfumes with the name smell very different. Tiffany & Co Rose Gold is a soft musky rose with blackcurrant and iris. Lattafa Fakhar Rose Gold is a big tuberose and jasmine white floral at £18.99 for 100ml, and it is not a Tiffany dupe.
If you want something in the Tiffany style from Lattafa, the closest one we stock is Mohra Silky Rose, a fruity, musky rose. It is a similar style, not a copy.
Type “rose gold perfume” into a search bar and you get Tiffany, Michael Kors, Monsoon and Lattafa, all in pinkish metal bottles. It is easy to assume they are variations on one smell. They are not. Each brand used rose gold as packaging, then filled the bottle with whatever it liked.
This guide sets out what each of the best-known rose gold perfumes actually contains, using the note lists on Fragrantica, and says plainly where they overlap and where they don’t. We sell Lattafa, not Tiffany or Michael Kors, so we will also tell you which Lattafa makes sense for each kind of buyer, and which one does not.
Why do so many perfumes share the “rose gold” name?
Rose gold is a jewellery colour: gold alloyed with copper, giving a warm pink sheen. Since the mid-2010s it has been one of the most popular finishes for phones, watches and beauty packaging, and perfume houses followed. Michael Kors released Rose Radiant Gold as part of its 2015 Gold Collection. Monsoon released a Rose Gold the same year. Tiffany & Co, a jeweller that actually sells rose gold, launched its Rose Gold fragrance in 2021. Lattafa’s Fakhar Rose Gold, from 2022, is a white bottle trimmed in rose gold.
The word “rose” in the name tempts people to expect a rose perfume. Sometimes that is roughly true, as with Tiffany and Monsoon. Sometimes rose is just one flower among many, as with Lattafa. The only reliable guide is the note list.
What does Tiffany Rose Gold smell like?
Top: blackcurrant · Heart: blue rose, iris · Base: musk, ambrette
Perfumer Jérôme Epinette. Main accords on Fragrantica: musky, rose, floral, fruity, powdery. Rated 3.85/5 from more than 1,100 votes.
It is a short, tidy formula. Tart blackcurrant opens it, then a soft rose arrives with powdery iris, and the whole thing settles into a clean musk. “Blue rose” is Tiffany’s own fantasy note, a nod to its famous blue box rather than a real flower. Fragrantica reviewers mostly describe a juicy blackcurrant start that softens into a musky, powdery rose. They praise it as polished and easy to wear to the office. The common complaints are short wear, often a few hours, and a “safe” feel.
Tiffany followed it in 2023 with Rose Gold Intense, which is a different scent: fruity notes, pink pepper and citrus over Turkish rose oil, orris, orange blossom and jasmine sambac, on patchouli, sugar and woods. It is sweeter and darker than the original, and reviewers are split on whether that is an improvement.
What does Michael Kors Rose Gold smell like?
There are two Michael Kors fragrances people usually mean.
Fragrantica lists only spicy notes, floral notes and musk. Accords: floral, musky, warm spicy, powdery. Reviewers describe a gardenia and jasmine-led floral, and several say the official note list leaves a lot out.
Gardenia, champaca, rose, tuberose, raspberry, peony, lily of the valley, pink pepper and water lily. Accords: white floral first, then floral and rose. Reviewers call it a lighter, fresher take on the original Michael Kors.
Neither is a rose soliflore. Both lean towards white flowers, and Gold Rose Edition shares gardenia, tuberose, rose and peony with Fakhar Rose Gold. That is a genuine overlap in style, but the Michael Kors pyramids are either vague or built around different fruit and fresh notes, and Fragrantica does not link them to Fakhar. We would not call Fakhar Rose Gold a Michael Kors dupe.
What does Monsoon Rose Gold smell like?
Monsoon’s 2015 Rose Gold opens with fruits, ozonic notes and lemon, moves to rose, cyclamen, tuberose and neroli, and dries down to musk, vanilla, woods, amber and oakmoss. Rose is its strongest accord, followed by floral, fruity and sweet. The few Fragrantica reviewers (it has only around 30 ratings) describe a fresh, light, realistic rose with a soft fruity lift.
On paper it shares more with Fakhar Rose Gold than Tiffany does: fruit on top, rose and tuberose in the heart, vanilla and musk underneath. In character they still differ. Monsoon is rose-led and airy; Fakhar is tuberose-led and full.
What does Lattafa Fakhar Rose Gold smell like?
Top: fruits, lily, pomegranate, aldehydes · Heart: tuberose, jasmine, gardenia, ylang-ylang, rose, honeysuckle, peony · Base: vanilla, white musk, sandalwood, ambroxan
Fragrantica lists it as Fakhar Rose; Lattafa’s US distributor sells it as Fakhar Women. Main accords: white floral, fruity, tuberose, sweet, woody. Rated 4.02/5 from more than 3,600 votes.
This is a white floral first and foremost. Aldehydes and pomegranate give a bright, slightly soapy start, then seven flowers arrive together, led by tuberose and jasmine. Rose is in there, but it is one voice in a crowd. The base is a gentle vanilla, sandalwood and clean musk with ambroxan for glow. The “rose gold” is the trim on its opaque white bottle.
The designer it is genuinely compared with is Givenchy L’Interdit, not Tiffany. Givenchy L’Interdit is first on Fakhar Rose’s “people who like this also like” list on Fragrantica, and the two share tuberose, jasmine, vanilla and ambroxan. Our L’Interdit alternatives guide covers that comparison in full. For the full pyramid, wearer reports and the bottle, see the Fakhar Rose Gold product page.
Is Lattafa Fakhar Rose Gold a Tiffany Rose Gold dupe?
No. We compared the two published pyramids and the Fragrantica data side by side, and the honest answer is that they share a name and a colour, not a smell.
| Tiffany Rose Gold | Fakhar Rose Gold | |
|---|---|---|
| Leading accords | Musky, rose, floral, fruity, powdery | White floral, fruity, tuberose, sweet, woody |
| Notes in both | Rose and musk, plus a fruity opening (blackcurrant in Tiffany, pomegranate and fruits in Fakhar) | |
| Only in this one | Iris, ambrette, blue rose accord | Tuberose, jasmine, gardenia, ylang-ylang, honeysuckle, peony, lily, aldehydes, vanilla, sandalwood, ambroxan |
| Linked on Fragrantica? | No. Neither appears in the other’s “people who like this also like” list. | |
Tiffany is a musky, powdery rose. Fakhar is a heady tuberose bouquet. If you love Tiffany for its softness and its iris-dusted rose, Fakhar Rose Gold will feel loud and creamy by comparison. If you have been gifted Tiffany and found it too faint, Fakhar may well be what you were hoping for, but it will smell different.
Which Lattafa is closest to Tiffany Rose Gold?
Of the Lattafa perfumes we have in stock, Lattafa Mohra Silky Rose (£13.99 for 100ml) is the nearest in style. Its Fragrantica pyramid is rose, litchi and pink pepper on top; rose, musk and lily of the valley in the heart; musk, vanilla and patchouli in the base.
Rose and musk at the core, a fruity opening, and the same top accords on Fragrantica: rose, musky, fruity and powdery.
Litchi instead of blackcurrant, no iris or ambrette, and a touch of vanilla and patchouli that Tiffany doesn’t have. Expect it to be a little sweeter.
That makes it a similar type of perfume, a clean, fruity, musky pink rose, rather than a copy of Tiffany. Nobody on Fragrantica calls it a Tiffany dupe and we won’t either. One point of contact is worth knowing: Parfums de Marly Delina appears in Tiffany Rose Gold’s “also like” list, and Mohra Silky Rose reviewers bring up Delina too, though they disagree on how close it is. Our Mohra Silky Rose review goes into how it wears, and this piece on whether it is a dupe explains why we describe it as an original.
Who should buy Fakhar Rose Gold instead?
Fakhar Rose Gold is the right rose gold bottle if you came for the look and you like white flowers. It costs £18.99 for a full 100ml, a fraction of designer prices, and it is a fuller, heavier style than the Tiffany. It suits:
- Fans of tuberose and jasmine, and of Givenchy L’Interdit in particular.
- Anyone who found Monsoon or Michael Kors’s white florals pleasant but too light.
- Gift buyers who want the rose gold bottle at a sensible price. Fragrantica reviewers are divided on the white-and-rose-gold design, so pick it for the scent first.
Skip it if white florals give you a headache, or if what you want is a soft, powdery rose. Tuberose is rich, and there are seven flowers in this heart. If you are weighing it against Lattafa’s other big women’s favourite, our Fakhar Rose Gold vs Yara comparison helps, and our Fakhar line guide explains how it differs from the three men’s Fakhar bottles. You can also see Fakhar Rose Gold’s notes, bottle and wearer reports before you decide.
