Lattafa Ajwad Pink to Pink 60ml EDP – Raspberry, Rose & Musk

Lattafa Ajwad Pink to Pink is the 2024 flanker to Lattafa’s Ajwad, and it heads in a very different direction from the original. Where Ajwad is a soft rose-and-vanilla scent, Pink to Pink puts tropical fruit up front: guava and pink grapefruit with a pinch of pink pepper. Rose, peony and magnolia form the heart, and the base is where it surprises people, with leather and moss sitting under the musk and vanilla.

Fragrantica voters agree on the surprise. Alongside fruity, tropical and fresh, they rank leather and animalic among its six main accords. That’s not something you’d guess from the name, and it’s the most useful thing to know before you buy.

The opening is the brightest part. Guava gives a ripe, slightly musky tropical sweetness, pink grapefruit adds a sour-sparkling edge and pink pepper a light prickle. It is fresh rather than sugary, which is why Fragrantica voters list “fresh” and “citrus” in its accords.

The heart is gently floral. Rose leads, with peony and magnolia keeping it airy and clean. It’s a pretty, petal-soft middle rather than a deep jammy rose.

The base is the twist. Musk and vanilla soften it, ambergris adds a salty-warm glow, and leather and moss give a darker, slightly dirty texture. If you only want sweet and clean from start to finish, know that this drydown is edgier than that.

Is it like Maison Crivelli Oud Maracujá?

A number of Fragrantica reviewers bring up Oud Maracujá when describing Pink to Pink, so it’s worth checking the note lists rather than taking the comparison on faith. Both pair a tropical fruit opening with a rose and a leather-vanilla base. That’s the overlap. The differences are bigger: Oud Maracujá is built around passion fruit, saffron and oud, an extrait by Jordi Fernández, while Pink to Pink lists no oud or saffron at all and uses guava instead. Treat it as a cousin in mood, not a copy.

Who should buy it

• Fans of fruity scents who are bored of fruity scents. The leather-moss base gives it more character than a typical pink fruit perfume.
• Daytime in warmer months. Guava and grapefruit shine in spring and summer; the base keeps it from feeling thin.
• Anyone, really. Lattafa’s page leans it toward women, Fragrantica files it for women and men. The leather makes it easy to share.
• Not for you if you want sweet and clean all the way down. Try the original Ajwad, or a softer rose like Lattafa Mohra Silky Rose, instead.
