Atlas Canyon and Atlas Glacial Valley are real Lattafa flankers, but they smell quite different from the original Lattafa Atlas. Atlas is the salty, mineral one: sea notes and salt over ambergris and oakmoss. Canyon is a woody aquatic with ginger, citrus and ambroxan. Glacial Valley is fruity and sweet, with pineapple, fig and mint over vanilla and amber.
If you want the Megamare-style sea scent everyone talks about, the original Atlas is the one, and it is the only one of the three that Royal Scents stocks.

We don’t sell Atlas Canyon or Atlas Glacial Valley. They are covered here so you can tell the three apart before you buy anything.
Lattafa now sells three fragrances with “Atlas” on the box, and the names don’t help much. A canyon and a glacier sound like two takes on the same rugged, cold idea. In practice the original Atlas, Atlas Canyon and Atlas Glacial Valley are three separate scents that share a bottle family and very little else.
This guide puts their official notes side by side, sets out what Fragrantica’s members say about each, and answers the question most people are really asking: which one is the salty sea scent, and which is closest to Orto Parisi Megamare? Every note list below comes from Fragrantica and Lattafa’s own sites. The newer two have only a handful of ratings so far, so we say where the evidence is thin.
Are Atlas Canyon and Atlas Glacial Valley Real Lattafa Fragrances?
Yes. Both are official Lattafa releases in the Atlas line, not copies from another house. Lattafa’s own site lists Atlas Glacial Valley, Lattafa USA lists Atlas Canyon, and Fragrantica has a page for each under Lattafa Perfumes. Lattafa sells both as 55ml Eau de Parfum and files them as unisex.
They are new. When we checked in October 2026, Fragrantica gave neither a launch year, and each had only around 20 ratings and two written reviews. The original Atlas, from 2024, had 3,139 ratings and 485 reviews. So anything you read about how the flankers wear is still early opinion, and we treat it that way below.
One name that often turns up in the same searches is Megara. That isn’t part of the Atlas line at all: it is a Maison Alhambra fragrance, another budget take on Megamare. We cover it further down.

Notes and accords as listed on Fragrantica, cross-checked against Lattafa’s official listings (Lattafa USA calls Canyon’s sea note “marine notes”). Ratings checked October 2026.
Read across the rows and the family resemblance is thin. Lemon, sea notes and oakmoss link the original to Canyon, though Canyon has no salt. Sea salt and moss link it to Glacial Valley. Nothing runs through all three, which is why they smell so different.
What Does Lattafa Atlas Canyon Smell Like?
Going by its notes, Canyon is the dry, grown-up one of the two flankers. Lattafa describes it as fresh, woody and mineral, inspired by rugged landscapes. It opens on ginger, bergamot and lemon, so the start is bright and a little spicy rather than briny. Lily of the valley and sea notes cool the heart, and the base is earthy: patchouli and oakmoss, with ambroxan and musk for lift.
Fragrantica files it as a woody aquatic, but its members rank marine last of its seven listed accords, behind citrus, musk, amber and fresh spice. That is the clearest sign that Canyon is not “Atlas with a new label”. It is a citrus-woody fresh scent with a cool, watery middle. Its 20 voters lean towards spring, summer and daytime wear.
What Does Lattafa Atlas Glacial Valley Smell Like?
Glacial Valley is the sweet one. Pineapple and fig open it, with mint to cool things down. Jasmine and patchouli sit in the heart next to a thread of sea salt, and the base turns soft and warm with amber, vanilla, musk and moss. Lattafa’s site calls it an oriental marine; Fragrantica’s members put fruity, white floral, sweet and green at the top of its accords, with salty fifth.
Of the three, it has the warmest finish and the least sea in it. Early ratings are very positive (4.61 from 18 votes), though that is far too small a sample to compare fairly with the original’s 3,139. Its voters also lean towards spring, summer and daytime.
A practical tip: if you read an “Atlas” review describing something light, fruity and sweet, the writer may well be wearing Glacial Valley. The original is none of those things.
Which Atlas Is Closest to Orto Parisi Megamare?
This is where it gets interesting, because the answer depends on whether you go by the note list or by the smell people describe.
Fragrantica’s top accords for Atlas are marine and salty, the same territory as Megamare. On the site’s AI-generated summary of reviews, which members vote on, 114 agreed that it is an excellent Megamare clone and 12 disagreed. On paper, though, it shares only lemon with Megamare.
Canyon shares four notes with Megamare’s pyramid: bergamot, lemon, ambroxan and musk. But it has no seaweed or salt, and its members rate it citrus and musky first, marine last. With only two written reviews so far, there is no wearer consensus on how it compares.
It shares only musk with Megamare, and its fruity, sweet, vanilla profile points in the opposite direction from Megamare’s cold, mineral one.
So for the Megamare effect, the original Atlas is still the one to try, and it is the only one with a real body of wearer opinion behind it. Our guide to Megamare alternatives in the UK covers that comparison from the Megamare side, including what Atlas leaves out.
If you want the most literal copy of Megamare, that is a different house. Maison Alhambra Megara (2022) lists bergamot and lemon, algae, calone and hedione, then ambroxan, musk and cedar, which follows Megamare’s published pyramid almost note for note. It rates 4.13 from 397 votes on Fragrantica. We don’t stock it, and our full Lattafa Atlas review compares it with Atlas in more detail.
Which Atlas Should You Buy?
Choose the original Atlas if you want salt, brine and a mossy ambergris drydown, the scent people compare to Megamare. It is loud, so one or two sprays is plenty.
Look at Atlas Canyon if you want a fresh, citrus-woody scent with a cool middle and an earthy, ambroxan finish, and you don’t need it to smell of the sea.
Look at Atlas Glacial Valley if you like fruity, sweet fragrances and want only a hint of salt, with a soft vanilla and amber base.
Wait for more reviews if you are thinking of blind-buying either flanker. Around 20 ratings each is not enough to judge performance.
Whichever you pick, all three share the season pattern. On Fragrantica, summer and spring votes clearly outnumber autumn and winter for each of them, and day votes outnumber night. For the original, that is 2.2k summer votes against 343 for winter. Our guide to wearing Lattafa Atlas covers sprays, nose blindness and layering, and our best fresh and aquatic Lattafa perfumes shows where Atlas sits among the other warm-weather bottles we stock.
