Ana Abiyedh Leather: The Darker Side of the Family
Juniper, cardamom and raspberry, then iris and rose, then leather over white musk and amber. It’s the least “white” scent in the Ana Abiyedh line by a long way.
Most flankers tweak the original. Ana Abiyedh Leather throws it out. The original is a clean citrus-pear musk. Leather opens with gin-like juniper berries, cardamom and pink pepper, softens into a powdery iris, and finishes on a supple leather. Fragrantica dates it to 2017, files it as a leather fragrance for women and men, and lists ten notes. That’s a busier composition than the six-note original.
It’s the bottle for someone who likes the Ana Abiyedh price and presentation but wants a scent with more shadow in it. And raspberry stops the leather from turning austere.
Leather vs the Original Ana Abiyedh
Same name, different worlds. Here’s how they compare:
The only real overlap is musk and amber in the base. Even there, Leather puts a leather accord on top, so the drydown smells completely different. If you loved the original, don’t assume you’ll love this. And if the original felt too plain, this may be the one for you.
The Ten Notes, Tier by Tier
Juniper BerriesCardamomPink PepperRaspberry
Juniper gives the opening a crisp, almost gin-like edge. Raspberry rounds it so it isn’t harsh.
IrisGingerRose
Iris brings the powdery, slightly cool texture. Ginger keeps the spice going from the top notes.
LeatherWhite MuskAmber
Leather leads the finish. White musk and amber stop it smelling like a saddlery.
How Fragrantica Classifies It
Ordered as Fragrantica ranks them. The bars show order, not strength.
The ranking is telling: leather first, then aromatic and fresh spice ahead of anything sweet. It also lists “animalic” fourth, which hints at a raw, skin-like edge. Expect a scent that leans dry and spicy, not fruity, despite the raspberry.
Wearing a Fruity Leather
- Cooler months suit it best. Spice, iris and leather come into their own in autumn and winter, and work well on evenings out.
- It’s genuinely shared. Fragrantica lists it for women and men, and the iris-rose heart keeps it from feeling one-sided.
- Office-friendly in moderation. The powdery iris softens the leather, so a light application can work for smart daytime wear.
- If you want more leather, our guide to the best smoky leather perfumes ranks the darker options, and the Lattafa leather perfumes category gathers every leather scent we sell.
